India's Oldest Game Developer Community

GameDev India is the country's oldest and largest game developer community. Since 2009, we've cared about one thing: helping Indian game creators get their work seen, and building a scene where they can genuinely thrive.

What began as a handful of developers helping each other out has grown into a community of nearly 10,000 designers, artists, programmers, writers, students and indie studios from every corner of the country. The spirit hasn't changed. Members still help each other build, ship and get noticed, and the contributors and volunteers who give their time remain at the heart of everything we do. What has changed is our ambition: GameDev India is now a dedicated organisation with a core team, so the community can do more, reach further and last longer.

Everything we run is built to help creators find each other, learn, team up and get their games in front of players and the wider industry. BYOG, Asia's longest-running game jam, has brought thousands of jammers together since 2010. Our Campfire meetups give the community a regular place to gather, and the Games from India Showcase has put more than 70 Indian games in front of global audiences, alongside partner events with platforms, publishers and industry bodies around the world.

Looking ahead, we believe Indian games deserve an audience at home as much as abroad. We're committed to building a healthy market for games from India, one where Indian players discover, buy and champion the games made by their own creators, and where making games in India is a career you can build a life on.
